With back to school on the brain, taking a final summer trip might not be on many people’s brains at the moment, but in Ocean City, August is one of the best times of the year for a getaway. Besides the warmer ocean temperatures and the typical Ocean City attractions, the resort town hosts Hotel Week each year, with great deals and specials available for two full weeks. The idea was born last year, when the Ocean City Hotel-Motel Restaurant Association (OCHMRA) decided to launch Ocean City Hotel Week. “This program is designed to mimic Restaurant Week. It will deliver great deals and thue that consumers have grown to expect,” stated Susan L. Jones, Executive Director of the OCMHRA.

The special promotion brings together hotels and motels around the Ocean City area and features free night stays and beach bargains. What’s the greatest part? The time of year the Ocean City Hotel Week takes place. It begins August 17^th and goes until August 28^th, when businesses are still booming and the weather is perfect.

In addition to some seriously great hotel prices, there are tons of free events the town is still offering during the last week of August. Some of these activities include Sundaes in the Park and the OC Beach Lights Laser Show on Sunday, fireworks on the beach Tuesday, free movies on the beach every Wednesday and Thursday, and Sunset Party Nights on Thursdays.
