The Eastern Shore is rich in history; many of the areas buildings, houses, fields or forests has a story all its own. In honor of our haunted histories (and Halloween of course) we’ve rounded up the best of the best here on Delmarva and we’re sure that visiting these places is the best way to celebrate the spooky season. So whether you’re from Delaware or Maryland, we’ve got the perfect haunted spot for you and your family. Happpppppy Halloween!

Who: Screams at the Beach

What: The Legend of All Hollows

When: Friday and Saturdays in October

Where: 22518 Lewes Georgetown Hwy

More info: The Town of All Hallow’s is waiting… Once a flourishing settlement, this town has fallen into disarray, since the appearance of the Hallow. Now for the last 200 years unsuspecting victims wander into the town’s limits to find there is no escape. This isn’t for the faint of heart. Here you will face your worst fears and watch your nightmares come to life. There are five attractions: House of the Hollow, Pandemonium, Cemetery of Sorrows, Escape the Crimson Woods and Abomination Acres.

Who: The Haunted Forest at Roxana Volunteer Fire Department

What: Haunted Forest

When: October 24th, 30th, 31st and November 1st

Where: 35943 Zion Church Rd, Roxana, Delaware 19945

More info: “Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the forest…” Each year, the Roxana Fire Dept puts on one of the Eastern Shore’s best haunted forests. The forest opens each night at dusk and will stop selling tickets around 10PM. Tickets are $10 per person.

Who: Slaughter House Farm

What: The Legend of Stalkers Field

When: October 24th, 25th, 31st and November 1st

Where: 32076 Gordy Road, Laurel, DE 19956

More info: A local farm in Laurel, DE transforms into a morbid nightmare every Halloween. The farm is located just off route 13 in Laurel, Delaware close enough to lore passing visitors of the busy highway and on to the farm property. What happens to those visitors after coming onto the farm has never been discovered. Abandoned cars have been found throughout Sussex County, however their owners seem to vanish. Be there if you dare! The event may be scary but the cause is pretty much amazing. The owners, The Scott Family, donate to Operation We Care each year and sends care packages to the soldiers serving overseas.

Who: Frightland

What: An outdoor attraction of 8 haunted locations

When: October 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and November 1st

Where: 309 Port Penn Road, Middletown, DE 19709

More info: Locals grew up seeing the haunted monstrosity on the side of the highway and hearing the scariest stories. The Frightland complex in St. Georges, Delaware features eight terrifying haunted attractions, including haunted houses, haunted barns, haunted hayrides, a zombie ghost town, and more! Make your Halloween special by visiting Frightland’s haunted houses. Just some of the attractions: The Attic, Idalia Manor, Fear Horror Hayride, Haunted Barn, Ravenwood Cemetery Zombie Prison, Carnival Amusements and Zombie Town.

Who: FrontFEAR Town

What: Spooks and Spirits Weekend

When: October 25th and November 1st

Where: 8430 Stephen Decatur Highway, Berlin, MD 21811

More info: Frontier Town is turned into a scary destination for families and children of all ages. Candy corn guess contests, scary movies, costume contests and trick or treating are just a few of the fun activities planned. Looking for something a little spookier? The vampire ball dance and haunted trail through the wicked woods of FrontFEAR Town will be located inside the western theme park. You can enjoy food, music and activities while you wait in line to walk the trail. (This is something Shorebread looks forward to every year!)
