The Salisbury Zoological Park is committed to enhancing our quality of life by providing a friendly, relaxing environment where educational and recreational opportunities come together through participation and interaction. With its animals, staff, volunteers, and park-like setting, the zoo encourages an appreciation of wildlife and inspires conservation of our natural world.
The Salisbury Zoo, located in Salisbury, Maryland, was founded in 1954 when some animals were placed on permanent exhibition in the City Park. The Zoo’s present form resulted from improvements made in the 1970s. The Zoo now provides naturalistic enclosures for species native to North, Central and South America. The Salisbury Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. The Zoo’s policy is maintained by the Salisbury Zoo Commission, Inc. whose nine members are appointed by the Salisbury City Council. The Zoo is funded in-part by the Salisbury Zoo Commission and by the City of Salisbury.

Zoo Stampede 5K Run/Walk
Salisbury Zoo
The Salisbury Zoo will host the annual Zoo Stampede 5K Run/Walk just before our Earth Day celebration.  Sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes, the Zoo Stampede benefits the Salisbury Zoo and guarantees fun for the whole family!
 
There will be random drawings with awesome giveaways and prizes to the top finishers in every age category. Participants can pre-register for $20 at VP Shoes or at the Salisbury Zoo. Participants may also register on the day of the race for $25 between 7:30am and 8:30am at the Zoo's East Gate.
 
Salisbury Zoo Tech shirts will be given for free to the first 150 applicants, so register today!

Earth Day Celebration
Salisbury Zoo
Come and celebrate mother earth on Saturday, April 26th 10am-4pm.  There will be environmental activities, games and demonstrations that will help raise awareness about the world we live in. Over 20 Earth-friendly exhibitors will be on hand to educate about how you can become an environmental steward. 
 
Also, through April 26th enter our Butterfly Garden Raffle 
Transform your garden into an enchanting sanctuary for butterflies and birds. The Salisbury Zoo will be holding a raffle for a complete Butterfly Garden at our Earth Day Event on Saturday, April 26th. The Butterfly Garden includes bushes and flowers of various shapes and colors including: Arrowwood Viburnum, Butterfly Bushes, Turtleheads, and Beebalms, The garden consists of flowers and grases that are appealing to the eye and the butterfly. Best of all, the Butterfly Garden is low maintenance; sit back, and let the wildlife come to you! As an added bonus a gorgeous Bird Bath is included to complete your backyard haven.
 
Support the Education Department at the Salisbury Zoo by purchasing your tickets today! tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 tickets for $20.

Bunk with the Beasts

You don't have to travel across the world to take your family on a exotic vacation! Just join the Zoo with our Bunk with the Beasts Camping Adventure! This overnight adventure includes a cookout, a guided tour, fun activities, animal encounters, a night hike thru the Zoo and a continental breakfast the next morning. Campers need to bring their own tents, sleeping bags and flashlights. Some tents will be available to rent at $25 a tent, first come first serve.
 
The campout is designed for families with children ages 4 and older. The cost is $20 per person. Credit Cards are accepted. Space is limited. To reserve your space call 410-546-3440.
